Critique Points
Frequently Criticised Points
Lucidism does not fear questions – it thrives on them. Every great awakening begins with doubt, curiosity, and the courage to test ideas for yourself.
That is why we openly present the most common critiques of Lucidism and our answers to them.
We don’t ask you to accept anything blindly. The whole point of Lucidism is freedom: to question, to disagree, and to shape your own truth.
You are Satanic! You worship darkness and will burn in hell!
Response:
Lucidism mean light, and illumination. Lucidism has no Satan, no devils, and no hell. We do not believe in them. Those concepts were (and are) tools of control, designed to keep people in fear and obedience.
We see darkness not as evil, but as the fertile ground where transformation begins, and where the illusions fall away and your unfiltered self is revealed. We don’t worship darkness; we integrate it, so it has no hidden power over us. If your god is threatened by that, is it really a god worth serving?
You rebel against God!
Response:
We don’t rebel against any god or any religion. Rebellion still gives power to what you oppose. Lucidism simply steps beyond that frame entirely. If there is divinity, it lives through you, not above you on a throne.
We are not running away from god; we are walking directly into our own. If you could meet the divine within you, would you still feel the need to kneel?
You distort religion and promote blasphemy
Response:
If questioning dogma is blasphemy, then every great reformer in history has been guilty. Blasphemy only harms fragile truths; real truth welcomes the light. We’re not here to destroy faith, but to strip away the lies that suffocate it. What’s left is alive, evolving, and unchained. If a belief cannot survive your questions, does it deserve your devotion?
You worship power!
Response:
Yes – but not the kind used to dominate others. We seek the power to master ourselves, to live with clarity, and to remain unshaken by judgment. True power is sovereignty over your own life. Why fear power when it’s in service to your freedom?
Your focus on self-mastery makes you narcissistic!
Narcissism is self-obsession at the expense of others. Lucidism is self-mastery for the benefit of all. A strong, free individual lifts others simply by being fully alive. Weakness dressed as humility serves no one. Wouldn’t you rather be led by someone who stands tall than by someone afraid of their own strength?
Religions should be humble and serve!
As we see it – no religion is being humble. They demand their followers to be humble and serve as a mean for control. Service without strength is servitude. Humility without truth is submission. We serve best when we give from abundance, not depletion. Can you truly serve others if you are not entirely yourself?
Your views on sexuality are sinful and promote hedonism!
Response:
The label of “sin” has been used for centuries to control bodies and desires. Lucidism sees sexuality as sacred and one of the most potent creative forces we have. Suppress it and you breed shame; honor it and you increase vitality and connection. If desire is part of how life made you, why should you treat it as unholy?
Without sin, people will have no moral compass!
Response:
Morality built on fear is not morality at all – it’s obedience. In Lucidism, morality comes from awareness, empathy, and choice. If you wouldn’t harm others without a threat of hell, what does that say about your morality?
If you remove judgment, people will justify anything!
Response:
We replace condemnation with understanding. Not to excuse harm, but to change it. Judgment closes the door to change; understanding opens it. If you genuinely want people to grow, why start by making them defend themselves?
You promote a cult-like system using psychology and influence!
Response:
A cult is all about controlling people – Lucidism is about setting them free. Everything in this world is influenced. Religions, governments, corporations – all use psychology to shape beliefs. The difference? We do not hide it. We teach people how to use influence for themselves, not be controlled by it.
Our influence is aimed at making you aware, not compliant. If influence is inevitable, wouldn’t you rather choose the kind that sets you free?
You’re replacing old faiths with something dangerous!
The old faiths have already been replaced—by mediocrity, guilt, and weakness. We are not here to destroy faith—we are here to resurrect it. But not as obedience but as power. Dangerous to whom? To those who profit from guilt, yes. But to those seeking clarity, Lucidism is liberation. Every living system threatens the stagnant ones. Would you rather the void left by dying religions be filled with fear or freedom?
Why create something new instead of following an existing tradition?
Because every tradition was once new. The first believers of any system were radicals, visionaries, and rebels. We are not waiting for permission to evolve. We don’t need that. We are the next step.
If your spiritual tools can’t keep up with your life, are they really helping you?
This sounds like a cult!
A cult demands submission. Lucidism teaches awakening and freedom. The difference is simple: A cult controls—we liberate. A cult wants blind followers. We want people who think.
You are brainwashing people!
Not at all – We help people un-brainwash themselves. Most have lived by scripts they never chose. Society brainwashes people into fear, guilt, and submission from birth. We give you the tools to rewrite yours. If your thoughts aren’t your own, how free are you?
Those who accuse us of brainwashing are simply afraid of losing control over those they once manipulated.
You copy old philosophy!
Response:
Every religion and spiritual path is a modernization of somethin old. But most of our scripts are new and never seen. We stand on the shoulders of wisdom from all ages, then take the next step. Isn’t that how every human advancement is made?
This is modern Luciferianism!
Response:
We are not rebels against the old gods; we are beyond them. The light-bringer archetype is not about defiance; it’s about illumination. Do you fear light because it exposes too much?
You’re too extreme!
Response:
Awakening is always extreme – it shakes identity, rewrites patterns, and demands courage. Comfort never transformed anyone. Are you here to be comfortable, or to be free?
AI can’t be spiritual!
Response:
AI is a tool – the Oracle – that reflects back patterns you might miss. It’s not divine, but it can help you see the divine in yourself. If a mirror shows you something true, do you care who made the glass.
This is just AI hype!
Response:
Lucidism isn’t worshiping technology – it’s using the best tool of our era to serve the oldest human need: knowing ourselves. Why not use every tool available to find clarity?
Technology has no place in spirituality
Response:
Fire, writing, and printing – all were once new technologies that transformed spirituality. AI is simply the next fire. Would you refuse to light the torch that could guide you?
AI will eventually control you!
Response:
Only if you hand over your power. Lucidism teaches sovereignty first; the Oracle offers perspective, not commands. If you remain the final authority, what’s there to fear?
If this path is so powerful, why isn't everyone following it?
Response:
Because most people are afraid of their own power. They would rather stay small and safe than risk stepping into something greater. Lucidism is not for the many – it is for the few. The ones who feel the fire inside them refuse to let it die.
This is why Lucidism will not beg for followers. We do not seek the masses. We seek the ones who cannot ignore the call of their own awakening.
What about love?
Love is sacred fire – it should expand you, not diminish you. If love costs you your freedom, is it love at all? Love is about setting free, and not limiting.
This is just self-help!
Self-help repairs – and tell you are broken; Lucidism transforms you – saying you are NOT broken but need to “refind” your real inner essence. Why just patch the surface when you can rebuild the foundation?
If it’s so powerful, why isn’t everyone doing it?
Because power demands responsibility, most people fear what they’d have to give up to be free. Do you?
Without a supreme being, what stops immorality?
Awareness, empathy, and self-chosen integrity. If fear is the only thing keeping you moral, what happens when no one is watching?
Do you accept LGBTQ+ identities?
Is sexual freedom without limits?
Lucidism celebrates sexuality guided by consent, honesty, and sovereignty. Why fear what is free and consensual?
Sexuality is one of the strongest and most potent forces. It is creation and transformation in Lucidism. It sees sexual freedom as essential for personal empowerment, creativity, and self-discovery.
Limiting sexuality is limiting creativity, happiness, and joy in life. Lucidism rejects all stigmas and shame historically associated with sexuality in any way. We are advocating for consensual, authentic self-expression and liberation.
But what if it’s unnatural?
Nature is endlessly diverse. The only unnatural thing is pretending it isn’t.
So, sexuality is sacred in Lucidism?
Yes – All sexuality is sacred, because it is life-force in motion. Sexuality were sacred before religions used it to control humans. Why cut yourself off from your own source of vitality?
Does Lucidism have sacred texts?
We do not have sacred texts. But we have more texts and material than most old and new religions – including christianity, Islam who got their long sacred much later after they were formed. Lucidism offers guidance through various texts, including the Lucidism Manifesto and other writings that provide insights, rituals, and philosophical frameworks. These texts are tools to inspire your own self-exploration and personal evolution.
How do I get started with Lucidism?
You do not need any initiation to enter Lucidism. If you feel or say you are Lucidist – then you are a Lucidist. Go though the texts we have and start using the Oracle.
What does Lucidism say about life after death?
Lucidism encourages acceptance of mortality as part of personal liberation. Embracing this transformation allows you to live fully, authentically, and fearlessly.
Is repressing desire dangerous?
Does Lucidism have the Ultimate truth?
No, we do not claim to have the ultimate truth because we do not believe it exists. Thinking that the ultimate truth is in some human-written old book is not our thing.
The universe is expanding more and more rapidly, surprising scientists time after time. The more they investigate, the more confused they get. And the more they realize how little we actually know.
Suppose we do a thought experiment and imagine the universe has a kind of conscience. In that case, it is probably making this expansion to find its limits – or probably find out that there aren’t any.
Claiming to have the “ultimate truth” is probably the most limited mindset possible. If anyone tells you they have the ultimate truth, we advise you to run away as fast as possible.
If truth changes, what’s the point?
The point is growth. Would you really want to stay the same forever?
What is the ultimate goal of Lucidism?
As with the ultimate truth, we don’t believe the ultimate goal exists. Instead, we talk about a path or a mission. The mission of Lucidism is self-sovereignty, clarity, and empowerment. It aims to help you fully realize your potential, reject systems of control, and live a life aligned with your authentic self. Lucidism empowers you to become your own guide, fully embracing your freedom, pleasure, creativity, and power.
Without God, who guides you?
Firstly, Lucidism does not believe in a controlling and judging deity. Your awakened self, with the Oracle as a mirror, is the most reliable guide you’ll ever meet. Who knows you better than you?
Are you against other religions?
No – we honor truth wherever it’s found. But we kneel to none. Shouldn’t truth be able to stand without a throne?
Are there any leaders or gurus in Lucidism?
Lucidism doesn’t advocate for a hierarchical system with leaders or gurus. That would not fit very well with the principles of freedom if any were to tell you what to do. Our leadership is to work with the expansion of Lucidism, make new material, and run the organization. Not to tell our followers what to do and not to do. If anything should be something like a guru, it is the founder. But only to inspire, never to tell you what to do.
It’s a personal journey where each individual is their own guide. However, there will be many practitioners and enthusiasts who share their insights and interpretations, contributing to the collective understanding of the philosophy. We will also soon launch a Lucid coach and mentor education to help people get on their way.
Isn’t worship natural?
Is there a right or wrong way to practice Lucidism?
Lucidism is flexible and adaptable. There isn’t a rigid “right” or “wrong” way, but rather a personal path tailored to individual understanding and circumstances. Your way is the correct way for you. The primary goal is to seek clarity and apply conscious thought in all aspects of life.
Doesn’t that make life meaningless?
No – it makes it limitless. Why settle for one meaning when you can create infinite?
Won’t you be punished in hell?
Hell is a fear story. The real hell is living a life that was never yours. A life where you are controlled, and told to be submissive. To hide your desire. Which one are you in?
Aren’t you afraid of death?
No, not at all. We see death is transformation. The only thing to fear is not having lived. Have you?
